A paella inspired blend of Spanish seasonings, onions, peppers, and garlic, Spanish Rice Spice is a great entree, side, or as a part of your Mexican themed island or salad bar. ADD BONUS COMMODITY HAM OR LEG ROAST TO MAKE A GREAT CREOLE INSPIRED DISH!




Basic Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 bag Gage Spanish Rice Spice
  • 9 cups Water
  • 1 #10 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 lbs (32 oz) Rice

Basic Recipe Directions:
STOVETOP OR STEAMKETTLE METHOD:

  1. Add contents of spice bag, tomatoes, water, and rice in a suitable container.
  2. Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Ready to serve.


WITH BROWN RICE:
  1. Combine water in a 4"" deep steam pan and bring to boiling on cook top.
  2. Stir in the rice spice.
  3. Add the brown rice and return to boiling.
  4. Add tomatoes, cover pan tightly with foil and set in oven.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes at 400¦F.
  6. Remove from oven, loosen foil and stir.
  7. Replace foil and hold, covered in warmer until served.
