Very Cherry Spoon Cake is a no-fuss recipe featuring Red Tart Pitted Cherries. Gage's Cinnamon-Sugar flavoring pack adds just the right sweetness and color to make using this difficult commodity a breeze.




Basic Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 #10 can Gage Coffee Cake Mix
  • 1 Cinnamon Spice Packet (in can)
  • 1 #10 can Red Tart Pitted Cherries
  • 1/3 cup Gage Pie Fill Conditioner
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/2 pints Water
  • Red Food Coloring (optional)

Basic Recipe Directions:
"Oven Method:

  1. Place cherries in a large mixing bowl and combine with Cinnamon Sugar Topping packet in can.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine Pie Fill Conditioner and sugar, being sure to break down any large particles. Once combined, stir in cherry mixture and food coloring (if desired).
  3. Pour cherry mixture into greased steamtable pan.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine Coffee Cake and water. Mix at low speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour on top of cherries.
  6. Bake in a preheated 375¦ F oven for 40 minutes or until cake tests done with a toothpick.
