Basic Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 bag Gage Spanish Rice Spice
- 9 cups Water
- 4 oz Butter or Margarine
- 1 #10 can Diced Tomatoes
- 2 lbs (32 oz) Rice
Basic Recipe Directions:
STOVETOP OR STEAMKETTLE METHOD:
- Add spice bag, tomatoes, water, and rice in a suitable container.
- Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Ready to serve.
WITH BROWN RICE:
- Combine water in a 4"" deep steam pan and bring to boiling on cook top.
- Stir in the rice spice.
- Add the brown rice and return to boiling.
- Add tomatoes, cover pan tightly with foil and set in oven.
- Bake for 60 minutes at 400¦F.
- Remove from oven, loosen foil and stir.
- Replace foil and hold, covered in warmer until served.
