Basic Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 #10 can GageWhite Cake Base
  • 4 lbs Sugar
  • 8 oz All Purpose Flour
  • 1.5 lbs shortening, butter, or margarine
  • 9 cups Water

Basic Recipe Directions:
BAKE METHOD:

  1. Cream sugar and shortening in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add cake base and flour, then mix at low speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add water and mix at low speed to wet powders, scraping sides of bowl as needed.
  4. Spread batter into 2 greased and floured full sheet pans.
  5. Bake in a 350¦F oven for approximately 30-35 minutes or until done.
