Bonus Commodity Applesauce is going to be available brown box in a lot of states this year. Although great as a side on its own, you can use a lot more of it when integrating it into some of your bakery items (and improve flavor and texture at the same time)!
As a general rule, you can substitute up to half of the butter or oil that's called for in a recipe using your applesauce! See below for a couple more Gage recipes using Applesauce. And if you're getting applesauce, trying the Gage Coffee Cake is an absolute MUST!
